Farscape / Archive F.A.Q.

What is Farscape?
Farscape is a one-hour scifi program about an astronaut from Earth and his friends (a group of escaped alien prisoners aboard a living ship) plus the enemies they keep collecting. It airs on three continents and will have at least five seasons. The alt.tv. farscape FAQ has more info.
What is / (or slash)?
Slash is homoerotic and homoromantic fanfiction (e.g. D'Argo and John making wild monkey love, or Aeryn mooning over Zhaan). There are other definitions.
How did this Archive come to be?
Long, long ago, in the Wayback Time (i.e. during season one, shortly after Thank God It's Friday. Again aired, mid-1999), a lady named Aiobheann began writing a lot of Farscape slash. Other people were writing it, too. She collected a lot of it up, and started Aiobheann's Farscape Slash Archive on Dencity. Eventually, Dencity got to be too much trouble, Aiobheann got her own domain (wildwimmin.com) and the archive was re-named the Farscape Slash Archive. In March of 2001, Aiobhean stepped down as archivist and WitchQueen volunteered to take over. Because WitchQueen had to gather the stories from various places around the Net, and because WitchQueen is an extremely lazy and lackadaisical somebody, it wasn't until November 2001 that the archive came back on-line, as the Farscape / Archive.
Why use '/' instead of 'slash'?
It's historically accurate.
It's shorter to type.
It differentiates this incarnation of the archive from the last one.
It looks cooler in the banner graphic.
What stories are not acceptable on the archive?
Stories which do not contain slash. At least one character must want to or actually have a sexual or romantic connection with another character of the same gender. There is one exception: if you are writing a series with a slash relationship in it, but one of the stories (other than the first or last story in your series), has no slash, then you may archive it here.
Stories which contain real people, particularly the cast or crew of Farscape. I like what these people are doing, and to date, they like the fans. (They think we're a little odd, but they like us.) They think slash is funny. They are not so sanguine about us speculating about their private lives. Characters good in fic. Actors bad in fic.
It says I have a choice of mailing lists to post to. What are these lists like?
Leviathan is very cool. It's a lively list, with both slash and gen content, for the discussion and posting of fic.
Smutscape is a low-volume adult Farscape discussion list.
AdultFarscape and FarscapeFic are Wonderful World of Makebelieve lists.
How do I format fic for achiving?
HTML Formatted Submissions
If you've already got your story in HTML, then you're good to go. The archive will store your HTML file as you've written it. This means that if you want Author's Notes, your e-mail address, or your webpage address to be included in the file, you must add it there. You have complete control over the formatting and the content.
Text Files
If you have a text file, your task is more difficult. Some basics:
